logoUrban landscape photography inspiration from Evan LeesonEvan Leeson is a communications technology pro by trade, an activist at heart. He is a bon vivant, artist, writer and wannabe musician. For Evan, Imaging is a past time that is turning into a serious pursuit. He likes to call it “imaging” because he doesn’t just engage in taking photographs. He uses the camera as one tool in the process of creating an image. There are other stages as well, depending on the purpose of the image. For him, the digital darkroom is a very happy, creative place to be.

Beautiful examples of low light photography from Matthew Stewart

logoBeautiful examples of low light photography from Matthew StewartLow light photography doesn’t necessarily have to be at night. Anytime or place that has dim lighting can present you with great low light photography opportunities.

For better low light photography make sure to keep your camera as still as possible, since the exposure times are gonna be longer than usual. Having a tripod to rest your camera on, and ensure it stays stable is a very good way to go as well.

To avoid camera shake upon pressing the shutter release, you could also use a remote shutter or turn on the self timer on your cam, so that you won’t have to go anywhere near your gear at the moment of making the exposure.

Higher ISO settings might be needed as well to make the sensor or photographic film more sensitive to light, especially if you cannot go with long shutter speeds. Just be aware that a higher ISO would introduce more noise (or grain in the case of film photography) into the shot, especially with longer exposure times particularly around shadow areas.

Today I’ve chosen a few great examples of low light photography from Matthew Stewart, who is a hobbyist photographer based in Australia. Some of these photos were taken at night, though the vast majority were taken around sunrise and sunset when the light is pretty soft and diffused with the sun low in the sky, offering captivating opportunities than Matthew apparently did not waste!

36 Examples of Beautiful & Powerful Half Face Photography

Hello there! If you are new here, you might want tosubscribe to the RSS feed for updates on this topic.

Portrait photography can be one of the more challenging aspects of photography; capturing a photo that appears natural and conveys the subject’s personality is a skill that takes practice. The good news is you don’t need any fancy equipment to snap great portraits, because portrait photography is about capturing a sense of a person’s character, rather than producing technically perfect compositions.
A good portrait photograph will tell a story about the person in it, even if it is in half portion of the face, the trick is the eye that will be the ultimate object. So here are some beautiful and powerful example of a half face photographs, and i believe the eye or the smile will tell you stories :)
